Wouldn't have an Android without it! When is the iOS version coming? Lol #muchlove
Love it! Great app to save space on your phone. Plus customer service is top notch! Developer answers questions and helps with problems promptly when alerted to an issue.
One of the best purchases available on Android. Great idea! Perfect for those who prefer web site UIs over dedicated apps. Also, you don't have to fight with a browser and the problems that come with them (flash or HTML5 not fully supported, etc.). The biggest benefit is each session runs in its own memory space (if you don't know what that means, think "speed and stability"). Nice work, Chimbori!
I've been using Hermit Premium for a while. Recently it started blocking some saved/previously-working "Lite App" sites, saying "Blocked because of your Settings" [CHANGE]. ******************** The Block options which the user can change include "'Content Blocker' = 'Block Ads & Malware'" (from the StevenBlack lists, unless more sources have been added) and "Block Popups." The program's author claims that Hermit *only* blocks sites in the "Block Ads & Malware" SB list, but that's not true -- the non-Adware, non-Malware sites I'm seeing blocked are *not* found in the SB "(adware + malware)" list. They are found in some of the *other* SB lists (social, gambling, fakenews, p0rn; and various combinations of those lists). Since Hermit is disingenuously including block lists beyond just "Malware & Ads," the only option is to turn off *all* blocking, losing protection for legitimate Ads or Malware, if you want to view those sites from Hermit. I've found that it's easier to instead just use any number of popular browsers that include Ad Blocking without forcing a binary choice of allowing or blocking Ads AND "bad" sites on the user. ******************** I did notice in a recent Hermit update that an "Early Access" (extra $ subscription for now) feature will allow the user to turn on & off sub-Content Blockers of "Adware and Malware" | "P0rnography" | "Coin Miners" | "Gambling" | "Fake News" | "Misinformation, Hate, and Propaganda." Those lists do not correspond to the lists on the StevenBlack list, so I have no idea what lists, or supersets of lists, or personal interpretation the Hermit author is using or creating. But at least he's finally giving the user a more granular choice of what to allow or block.
Same as regular Hermit review..... 20200626: Update, I am not trying to hurt anyone. I didn't want to do this, & I am happy, I love my life. I wish you all success. 🤗
